We are Singing Here, Singing There, Singing, Singing Everywhere!

Hi Boysenberries, Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, please put a penny in the old man's hat! If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do; if you haven't got a ha'penny, then God Bless You!

My Christmas CD with Ardyth Gilbertson, Ancient Ayres & Carols for Christmas is on sale at $10 for the CD, $7 for the download and three free download tracks! The shipping and mailing cost for CDs is reduced to one penny! Click on the Buy button and you can choose whether to buy the CD, download tracks including the freebies or download the CD.

The free downloads are: "The Cherry Tree Carol", a lovely Appalachian version of a very old English carol, the only one you'll hear where Joseph tells Mary to "let the father of the baby gather cherries for thee!!!" "The Holly and The Ivy" was adopted and adapted by Christians, but it came from the winter solstice customs of a much older time. "Good King Wenceslas" is the wonderful true story of a king in Bohemia who was known and loved for helping the poor.

Check out my Calendar page for details * Sat. Dec. 5, I'm dancing with Shepherdstown Border Morris before and during the Christmas parade * Sun. Dec. 6, I lead the carol sing at O'Hurley's in Shepherdstown * Sat., Dec. 12, Ardyth and I are singing our carols at the Berkeley Springs Ice House * Sat. Dec. 19, I'm leading caroling around the streets of Shepherdstown, starting from and returning to The Devonshire Arms. * Sun. Dec. 20, I'm playing with Ardyth in a Winter Solstice Concert with the Shepherdstown Muses and special guests.

Not on the calendar are the Christmas Eve services in the Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church. If you have small children, the 5 PM Christmas Eve service is short and I lead the singing of "The Friendly Beasts" on my autoharp. In this song, each animal in the manger tells what it did for the baby Jesus (the tradition says that animals are given the gift of speech on Christmas Eve). This carol is centuries old. I will be playing my alto recorder for the lovely, simple candlelit 11 PM service Christmas Eve.

HAPPY HANNUKAH! MERRY CHRISTMAS! MAGICAL SOLSTICE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! Please join my mailing list; tell me what you like. It's right on this page...see it?
